Sculptures and paintings inside a garden shed at night.
Night Scenes, installation view at Le Shed, Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026

I read somewhere that a good thing to do is, each evening, think of three moments from that day that you feel grateful for, or that, at least, made that moment feel worth living. It's something I've been trying to do, though some evenings I forget and simply fall asleep. I've thought about moments lying on the couch with Emily and Huck, together; looking at a tree in the neighborhood, all in bloom; giving a cookie to a friend — small and simple things.

We're told to find a purpose for our lives; that a purpose for oneself will make life feel meaningful. I'm trying to find it in those small moments: in caring for the people around me, the people and beings I share this life and world with. It's not always easy, but I'm trying to find life's meaning in caring for you.
